Wild Onion – Fall Season – 2023

September 5th - December 22nd

Over the fall session, participants observe the ecosystem as it shifts from summer to autumn to winter. We learn about birds, plants and fungi. We harvest the garden, study seeds and leaves as they fall, and gather inspiration from the world around us as it prepares for the cold season.

Wild Onion meets at a forest preserve in Edgebrook, Chicago.

We run at a 1:3 staff-child ratio with up to 9 kids a day. Wild Onion believes that outdoor education should not come at the expense of comfort, and will offer indoor alternatives at public spaces or museums on severe weather days.
